Import Lease data into Pops

You may import Lease data (along with one Tract per Lease) from a properly-formatted Excel spreadsheet.

The fields you can import are listed below. All of these fields appear on the View Lease Detail window and the related Tracts window.

You may import as many Leases at a time as you want, so long as each is on its own line in the spreadsheet. Don’t include any blank lines.

The fields you can import are:

Lease Name                     Required. Must not match a Lease Name you already have in Pops.

Date of Lease                  Document Required.

State                                 If used, both State and County must be entered.

County Lessee Name      Required. Must match exactly a Company name you already have in Pops.

Lessor Name                   Required.

Term Unit                         Required. Always the word “years” (Pops v4 will allow “months” or “years.”)

Term of lease                   Term of lease in years or months.

Lease rental per acre      up to 10 decimal places

Signing Bonus                  up to 10 decimal places

Fractional interest           Note that both the Lease and the related Tract allow you to enter a fractional interest.

Signed & Returned Date         formatted as YYYY-MM-DD, eg, 2018-06-15

Bonus Paid                          YYYY-MM-DD

Offer Received                   YYYY-MM-DD

Date of First Payment        YYYY-MM-DD

Date of Latest Payment     YYYY-MM-DD

Leasehold Released           YYYY-MM-DD

Nature of Material             If used, must match one Product Type Code as found in Preferences/Properties → Product Types.

Show as Producing             Use “y” for Yes and “n” for No, or “t” for True and “f” for False. Lowercase only.

Once you have prepared your spreadsheet, save a copy in “Tab-Delimited” format. Put the file into a convenient location on your computer. You will load the file from that location when you import it into Pops.
